Fest der Begegnung and Eye-witness talk

        Fest der Begegnung celebrates IYM Dachau and its purpose. It gathers participants, Dachau locals, even guests from Munich and, most importantly, concentration camp survivors.

       In the morning, there was an Eye-witness talk which was held by a Dachau concentration camp and Dachau death march survivor. His speech included his terrible experience during his imprisonment. The atmosphere in the room was very intense and everyone could notice the sadness in his eyes during the speech.

        Later, we decorated the hostel, prepared stage program and got ready for the event. After the guest arrival and performance, there was a fancy diner, so we spent a lot time there. Later that evening, there was a party in the basement of the hostel with a DJ and a lot of beer. The evening ended at about 3-4am with a lot of girls having a sleepover in my friend's room with funny socks on. It was definitely the most dynamic and chaotic day of the camp.
