After breakfast we split up into our colour groups, met with our tour guides and went to the biggest former concentration camp in Germany - Dachau concentration camp Memorial site. As we approached the fence of the former camp and ammunition factory, our tour guide started her story with first events that occurred in the concentration camp in that period of time. After a while, we arrived to the main area - camp where prisoners were held. Standing on its ground on a gloomy day carried an immensely heavy feeling and, as the tour guide proceeded with the stories of torment and behaviour of SS soldiers towards prisoners and as we saw all the exhibits - from burned personal belongings of prisoner to their beds, the feeling got even worse. With such emotions of terror and sorrow, i belive no one could help but feel empathy which is the ultimate key to remembrance and preventing such events from happening again.
Later that day, we had an Opening party. We spent time getting to know other a little better, laugh and drink beer (how unexpected) with Hispanic music in the background. I even got fictionally married that night with a Spanish guy and got a French kid. All in all, this particular day was full of the most various emotions, both wonderful and atrocious.
